Custom Manufactured Windows—Made to Fit Like a Glove

Before your windows are ordered, each one is measured exactly.

Every home is unique. Every window opening is a little bit different.

So it doesn't make any sense try to fit every home and opening with standard windows. That's why Mr. Rogers Windows sends a trained technician out to measure each of your windows. Your specifications are then sent to Andersen, who custom manufactures windows to precisely fit your home.

You'll Never Have Problems with Custom Fit Windows

Your windows are then custom made to fit your home perfectly.

It's not just that each house and window opening is a little bit different. Over time, houses settle into the ground. This can put your house at a slight tilt. However, for windows to function properly, they must be square and level.

Because of settling, each custom window is manufactured to be slightly smaller (about 1/2 of an inch) than your window opening. This allows the installers a bit of wiggle room when they put your window in. They'll add shims (pieces of metal that are stuck between the window and the wall) to level the window frame before securing it tightly to your home.

If the window were any larger, the installers wouldn't be able to make it perfectly square and level. If it were any smaller, it wouldn't fit tightly to the opening. That's why Mr. Rogers Windows takes exact measurements, once when you order your windows, and twice when you confirm the order. Window sizing and installation pre-planning are vital parts of a guaranteed installation, and why Andersen custom manufacturers your windows.

Longer Performance and Better Energy Efficiency

Our installers are trained to install your windows absolutely plumb and square.

If the frames had not been custom fit, it's very possible that the windows would not operate perfectly. A gliding window might not shut completely on one side, or a double hung might not be airtight, causing drafts or poor energy efficiency. You might also find it difficult to open or shut them.

Custom measuring, manufacturing, and installation of your windows ensures that they fit tight and work right...every time.
