Repair Solutions for 3 Sliding Screen Door Problems

If your sliding screen door is stuck, drags or won’t stay in its track, you may be ready to toss it and install a new one. There can be many good reasons to get rid of your existing sliding screen door, like when you want an updated design or when the track or door is badly damaged. However, some of the most prevalent (and frustrating) sliding screen door problems can be fixed with relatively simple repairs you can do yourself.

This article covers three of the most common sliding screen door problems including:

1. Bad rollers– These are one reason why sliding screen doors fall out of their tracks. An inspection of the rollers and door and a trip to your local home improvement store may be the answer.

2. Wrong size door– At times a sliding screen door  won’t work well because it’s just not the right size for the opening. If it’s too small, it will not move within the tracks as it should.

3. Damaged or stretched screen– When screens are either pushed or pulled accidentally by your dog or any person bumping into the screen while walking by it or in and out of it, this can allow in bugs and it looks unsightly as well.

The great news is all of these can be fixed affordably and relatively easily too. To find out how to repair your sliding screen door,  read: Repair a Sliding Screen Door
