Security bars are metal grills that are installed by screwing them into the window frame. They come in permanent, swing-away, and removable types. You can buy DIY versions of security bars in home improvement centers or you can have them customized in specialty shops.
With security bars, not only will your house be more difficult to invade, but burglars looking for easy access will be discouraged from even trying. Your insurance rate may also decrease if you have security bars installed on windows and take other additional security measures at home.
