Greenhouses, plant boxes, and home decor – these green projects often come into our minds when we talk about recycling windows and doors. In the Netherlands, a creative and unique kind of shelter fabrication makes use of these salvaged windows and doors.
The Bow House, designed by French architect Stephane Malka, is a light stationary shelter made of salvaged windows and doors vertically constructed to accommodate passersby and nomads. Not only does it provide basic refuge, but it also provides ample light, ventilation, and privacy inside the shelter.
While this Bow House project may not be implemented anywhere in our country just yet due to safety concerns and other issues, this could be a great concept to base future projects on, for shelters or for purely creative purposes. What do you think about it?
