Choosing the Right Glass for Your Window

Choosing the Right Glass for Your Window

Identifying the right glass for your windows means considering a lot of factors, including how the glass controls the heat that goes in and out of your home, how it blocks the noise from your neighborhood, and how it ensures your privacy and security.

When it comes to controlling the temperature inside your house, you might want to consider double- or even triple-glazed glass because it effectively blocks heat coming in and out of your home through your windows.  Low-emissivity, or Low-E, glass also makes a wise option as it reflects the light that passes through your windows.  This reduces the heat being conducted through your windows and increases resistance to heat flow. If you live in a busy neighborhood, you might want to opt for laminated glass to help block noise from outside.  Tempered glass, on the other hand, is highly recommended for maximum security.
