Have you noticed your energy bill somehow going up because of air leaking in through your patio door? How about water seeping through your door and soaking into your floor and rug when it rains? These leaks must be fixed to avoid further damage and cost. Here are a few ways to fix patio door air and water leaks:
Air leak. To fix air leaks in your patio door, you need to check on two things – weatherstripping and door insulation. If weatherstripping has become damaged, replace it. Also check to see if there is insulation between the door frame and stud walls. If there is none, install some. If there is insulation but it’s damaged, replace it.
Water leak. Check the sill area of your patio door and replace it if damaged. This is the area where water usually leaks in.
